Iconomy Consulting Advises Digital-Finance Startup on Governance and Regulatory Strategy
· iconomy
Singapore / Kuala Lumpur, 24 October 2026 – Iconomy Consulting Group has been engaged to provide governance, corporate strategy and regulatory policy advisory services to a blockchain and digital-finance startup seeking to develop its business within an evolving regulatory environment.
The engagement brings together Iconomy Consulting Group’s multidisciplinary capabilities across governance, law, economics, finance and institutional strategy, with a particular focus on helping emerging businesses build credible governance structures while engaging constructively with regulatory and policy considerations.
As part of the engagement, representatives of the startup and Iconomy Consulting Group attended a meeting with Tan Sri Dzulkifli Ahmad, former Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM) and a former senior prosecutor with extensive experience in commercial crime and anti-money laundering matters.
The discussion covered a range of issues at the intersection of financial innovation, governance, regulatory policy and economic development.
A key area of discussion concerned the role that industry expertise can play in contributing constructively to policy development. This included the importance of research, stakeholder engagement and evidence-based policy proposals in helping policymakers understand emerging technologies, commercial realities and potential regulatory risks.
The discussion also considered how regulatory frameworks may be developed to preserve space for innovation and economic opportunity while maintaining financial integrity, institutional credibility and appropriate safeguards.
Following the meeting, Boo Kok Chuon, Group Chief Executive Officer of Iconomy Group, reflected on the discussion:
“Emerging industries often develop faster than the regulatory frameworks surrounding them. Good governance therefore requires more than simply asking what the existing rules say. It also requires an understanding of how institutions, businesses and policymakers can engage constructively in shaping frameworks that remain credible, proportionate and responsive to new economic realities.
For us, this is where governance becomes particularly meaningful: at the point where law, economics, finance, institutional design and public policy begin to interact.”
The advisory assignment reflects Iconomy Consulting Group’s broader focus on helping businesses approach governance not merely as a compliance function, but as part of corporate strategy, institutional development and long-term credibility.
Through its multidisciplinary advisory platform, Iconomy Consulting Group works with businesses and organisations on corporate governance, strategy, restructuring, institutional development, valuation-related matters and policy-oriented research.
